Services
Hospitality Center
Guests (ages 18+) receive breakfast and a safe place to sleep. Job counselors provide advice, encouragement, and workshops for guests seeking employment. Computer trainers assist with online applications and resumes.
Soup Kitchens
Every weekday of every week of every month all year long, a soup kitchen is available to our guests in one of our Evanston area faith communities. Due to COVID, meals are being served at the door.
Warming Center
The Warming Center is open for anyone who needs to get out of the cold.

Producemobile
Interfaith Action volunteers distribute 11,000 pounds of fresh produce, donated by the Greater Chicago Food Depository, to residents of Cook County in need. Numbered tickets are provided to guests, who each receive 15-25 pounds of fruits and vegetables. There is a walk-up line and distribution takes place outside, so bring a wheeled cart and/or strong bags with handles.
In 2020, 530 volunteers distributed 235,400 pounds of fresh produce and special COVID-related meat and dairy items to 4,400 individuals. This effort fed 16,700 people.
As part of the Producemobile program, SNAPGap collects personal hygiene and cleaning products that cannot be purchased with federal benefits and distributes them to people in need. Member church communities donate and collect different items every month, including toilet paper, razors, laundry detergent, and soap.
The Producemobile is co-sponsored by the Greater Chicago Food Depository, Interfaith Action of Evanston, and the City of Evanston. For more information or to sign up, see our flier or visit here.
